Detail came out so nice on this, definitely better than i expected. The final figure should be pretty cool, i'm excited about it! This character is taking me forever...but i guess that's okay.

Past few weeks i sculpted base male and female bodies (sort of generic starting off points for people i make in the future). The female is definitely the stronger, i spent a lot more time on it. I'll put up some shots of the male body also, but the female base body quickly became the Bandit Queen, which is what i'm spending most of my time on now. Things are great! Never sleep.

Made a gross worm guy. ZBrush is good at making gross things. Well really, it's harder to make a not-gross something in zbrush. I'm making people now!

Also revised that most recent reel to make a shorter version! It's better now.

Been working on the Lobstrosity, the creature i did in the fall with sculpey. Mostly Maya and Mudbox work. I think i like zbrush better than mudbox! I think i'll continue in mudbox though, i'd like to be comfortable working in both.

The mouth-tongue thing is a little too Alien, i've been thinking. I might end up going with a more normal tongue.

I have determined that i shall change my thesis yet again. I'm not sure what to yet, but i know i want to go in an entirely different direction. I want it to either be a truly exceptional story, something complete and unexpected, something more than a funny little thing about monsters in an office, or i want it to be a glimpse of a world or place with no sensical story or sense to it at all. I will be working on it over the 'break.' It will be great! I am excited.

Anyway, here's the old animatic for 'Thirsty.'

Some photos of my recent sculpt of the Lobstrosity!
It's concept work for thesis, and the character has changed and been refined slightly since i did this, but i'm happy with how it came out. I really would like to paint it, and i think i shall, but it's looking like that may need to wait till winter break.
I'm finding that sculpture comes more naturally to me than drawing tends to, and i really enjoyed working out this character this way, so i think i shall physically sculpt more of my characters in the future. It's rather fun!
